I have recently spent a fair bit of my time trying to find some good fancy dress ideas for couples. The reason for this is that I have been invited to a fancy dress costume party and I want my partner to come along as well. The Jacket of the Shoyoroll White Mamba Gi
The first thing that I noticed about my White Mamba Shoyoroll Gi is that the jacket is very light. It is probably the lightest Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi jacket that I own. It is definitely the lightest that has been released by Shoyoroll. The jacket seems very durable because it doesn't have a back seam, which is a necessity for a strong Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gi top. Further strengthening it is the triple stitching on it. I love the gold and purple coloring and contrast stitching that really makethis ordinarily boring white gi stand out.
Shoyoroll, as always, has done a great job deciding where to put their patches. I like the embroidered logos on the arms and the tiny patch on the front of the skirt. Very classy.
The collar also stands out to me. It is made of foam so, although it might bend, it won't break like rubber will and isn't nearly as heavy as a rubber collar. This makes the gi great for International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation competitions where you have to weigh in with the gi on before you compete. The only issue with the gi in regard to competition is that it contains an inner pocket to hold your ID or iPod. Although Shoyoroll designed these to be helpful in competition, the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation recently banned such pockets as they may cause injury. I suggest you just get the gi with the pocket separate so that you can sew it on if you want. I like the custom woven inner taping along the inside of sleeves as well.
The graphic on the White Mamba is fantastic. I really like the purple snake that they decided to use. It really reminds me of my Tatami Fightwear bjj gi that also features amazing art. They seem to have fixed the previous problem that they had in regard to the seam taping tearing out on other Shoyoroll gis. There should be no further issue with the taping coming out of the White Mamba gi. I'm glad that they listened to their consumers and went with a much better supplier and a higher quality manufacturer.
A single thing that I don't want to leave out is the sleeves. You'd think that since the gi weighs next to nothing that it might really stretch out during training. I have not found that to be the case at all. The sleeves remain tight throughout training and even if it becomes very sweaty on the training mat, the gi keeps its original shape. I would definitely recommend the White Mamba gi jacket over the Fuji BJJ Gi jacket simply because it is of a much higher quality.

Family Celebrates Christmas Together
Every Christmas, we have a family get together. This is the only time of the year where our family can be together and celebrate. It's a long holiday, not like any other holidays. We usually take turns in hosting this event. This year our gathering will be held at my place.
